About the event
The first half of this program is dedicated to one of the most sublime works in the choral repertoire: the Requiem Mass by Maurice Duruflé. The mass is a work of peace and calm, advocating a message of consolation and acceptance.
We will be joined by our own Symphony Chorus, the Collin College Choir program, and guest soloists Basil Ceniseros and Ryan Kuster;
Basil Ceniseros, Mezzo-Soprano, joins us as a previous soloist with the Dallas Bach Society, American Baroque Opera Company, and Orpheus Chamber Singers. She is featured in the stunning Pie Jesu movement.
Ryan Kuster, Bass-Baritone, has been heard with the LA Philharmonic, Dallas Opera, and Pacific Symphony. His full and rich voice is featured in several movements, spanning the dynamic and dramatic range of the human voice.
The second half of the program will feature three outstanding works for string orchestra:
The first piece is Samuel Akpabot's charming and unique "Three Nigerian Dances for Strings and Timpani."
Second is one of the absolute gems of the string repertoire, Edward Elgar's masterpiece "Serenade for Strings."
The evening will end with Michael Markowski's sparkling, jazz-influenced barn burner, "Finding the Words."
Don't miss this outstanding evening of music that you will not hear anywhere else!
The tickets are $15 for students, $25 for adults, and $20 for seniors aged 62+.
They can be purchased at the door and at https://allenpac.org/events/250308-APO.
